Our Focus

  • Youth with serious emotional disturbances, or at risk for serious disorders, and their families
  • Under 18 years of age
  • Dependant on public systems for mental health services
  • Impaired functioning in family, school or community
  • Youth currently in an out-of-home placement, at risk for out-of-home placement, or transitioning
  • Youth with multi-agency involvement: Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, Developmental Disabilities, Special Education

Authority

MCA 52-2-301. Montana state legislature declares that it is the policy of this state to provide a system of care to serve high-risk children with multi-agency service needs within their home, community, region, and state, whenever possible. It shall provide integrated services, contain costs and prioritize available resources in order to increase the capacity of communities to serve.

Youth Assessment Center
The Youth Intake and Assessment Center (YIAC), as an extension of Youth Court Services and in collaboration with numerous community organizations, has become a resource and education center for youth, families, and the community.
Montana Youth Court
Youth Court staff manages caseloads of youth charged with offenses under the Montana Youth Court Act.
